Spartanburg
Ballet Spartanburg's mission is to promote dance appreciation in
Spartanburg County and surrounding areas by providing quality dance
presentation, education, and outreach. Ballet Spartanburg produces a
four program season that includes "The Nutcracker", a fall program, a
spring program and a guest company.

Cool Jazz Orchestra
An auditioned community orchestra composed of professional and
non-professional musicians, the Carolina Cool Jazz Orchestra strive to
educate, entertain and enrich people's lives through Contemporary,
World and Jazz oriented music.

Foothills Artisan Center
The Carolina Foothills Artisan Center in Chesnee, SC is organized and
shall operate exclusively as a nonprofit corporation to develop the
educational, artistic, cultural and economic growth of the Upstate by
providing means for North and South Carolina artists to demonstrate the
creative process and to showcase the products of their talents to a
wide variety of citizens and by providing a place for citizens to learn
about and purchase the work of Carolina artisans.
Concoxions
Cornerstone Theatre is a unique performing arts
center conveniently located between Spartanburg and Greenville at 59
Groce Road in Lyman. Housed in a renovated old stone historic armory,
Cornerstone Theatre features state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and
video; all-tiered seating for 350; and a 56’x32’
proscenium stage. CCT can also be converted into a multi-level dinner
theatre configuration with all seats facing the stage. The theatre
hosts a variety of events including critically-acclaimed in-house

National Battlefield
Cowpens National Battlefield in Cowpens, SC commemorates a decisive
battle that helped turn the tide of war in the Southern Campaign of the
American Revolution. The battle at the "Cow Pens," one of only a few
successful double envelopments in history, is recognized by historians
as one of the most important of the American Revolution.

skills demonstrated by craftsmen in period clothing.

From its beginning in 1995, Hub City's emphasis has been place-based
literature that encourages readers to form a deeper connection with
their home territory. Over the years, Hub City has published in a
variety of genres, including fiction, personal essay, poetry,
non-fiction, biography, humor, nature writing, children's literature,
and historical.

Mountain National Military Park
2005 Marks the 225th Anniversary of the Battle of Kings Mountain. Kings
Mountain National Military Park, in Youkr and Cherokee Counties, SC,
commemorates a pivotal and significant victory by American Patriots
over American Loyalists during the Southern Campaign of the
Revolutionary War, which destroyed the left wing of Cornwallis' army
and effectively ended Loyalist ascendance in the Carolinas.

Moo Festival
Each June, Cowpens, SC holds its Mighty Moo Festival & Reunion.
Festivities at Mighty Moo include a golf tournament, beauty pageant,
carnival rides, main street parade, food vendors, crafts, and a huge
street dance, as well as reunion for former crewmen (and their
families) who served onboard the USS Cowpens CVL-25, a World War II
aircraft carrier, and crewmen from the current USS Cowpens CG-63, an
Aegis guided missile cruiser
Milliken
Art Gallery at Converse College
The Milliken Gallery hosts visiting exhibits, as well as exhibits by
the students and faculty of the Converse Department of Art and Design.
The Gallery maintains approximately six shows per year.
Moonshiner's
Reunion and Mountain Music Festival
Dedicated to keeping the moonshining spirit alive, the Moonshiner's
Reunion and Mountain Music Festival in Campobello, SC is one of the
Appalachian region's most authentic annual folk celebrations. The
reunion is a 2 day event, beginning on a Friday and ending on a
Saturday.
The
Music Foundation of Spartanburg Concert Series
The Music Foundation of Spartanburg's mission is to
educate, entertain and enrich people's lives through music. The Music
Foundation of Spartanburg Concert Series presents world-class artists
and the Greater Spartanburg Philharmonic. The concert series runs from
September to April and consists of classical, jazz, pop, folk, and

Since its inception ten years ago, BellSouth FastAccess Music on Main
has been embraced by the Spartanburg community as a favorite after-work
social gathering. What began as a plan to re-introduce the business
community and the local residents to the downtown area is now a

Peachoid
Water Tower is the 1-million-gallon
water tank built by the Gaffney Commission of Public Works to honor the
Upstate's (and particularly Cherokee County's) fresh peach industry.
The giant peach is easily seen from I-85, but you can take the exit for
S.C. Highway 11, Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, for a closer look.
Petrie
School of Music at Converse College
A typical concert season at the Petrie School features over 150 events
each year, including student and faculty recitals as well as
performances, lectures and master classes by some of the world's most
gifted musicians.
Piedmont Piecers Quilt Guild
meets on the third Tuesday of each month at Woodland Heights Recreation

The
Sandor Teszler Library at Wofford College
In service since the fall of 1969 and named as one of the "Outstanding
Buildings of the Year" by the South Carolina Chapter of the American
Institute of Architects, the library at Wofford College was dedicated
in 1971 and named for Sandor Teszler, a well-known textile leader. The
downstairs gallery houses art collections with a changing schedule of
exhibitions through the course of each year.

Free Productions is a new college-aged theatre
group dedicated to bringing exciting new theatre to the Spartanburg and

Spartanburg's grand old lady, the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium,
reopened after an extensive $10.5 million renovation, and is a great
venue for entertainment. The new renovations include a new lobby,
complete with custom carpeting, a specialty coffee bar, copper
chandeliers, and arched skylights. The concession stand has rich oak
cabinets behind the counter, and just around the corner is a new
souvenir booth.

Recognized in 1988 as the official storytelling festival of SC, Stone
Soup Storytelling Festival brings storytellers from across the nation
