American Youth Soccer Association North Spartanburg
American Youth Soccer Association West Spartanburg
The American Youth Soccer Organization is recreational soccer for girls and boys ages 5 to 19. We emphasize balanced teams, positive coaching, good sportsmanship and fair play.



Ballet Spartanburg
Ballet Spartanburg's mission is to promote dance appreciation in Spartanburg County and surrounding areas by providing quality dance presentation, education, and outreach. Ballet Spartanburg produces a four program season that includes "The Nutcracker", a fall program, a spring program and a guest company. Classes for all ages are available.

Boys and Girls Club of Metro Spartanburg
In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow -- all while having fun. It is truly The Positive Place For Kids.

Bethlehem Center
The purpose of the Bethlehem Center is to strengthen families physically, emotionally, spiritually, socially, educationally, and intellectually. The Bethlehem Center's day care program is licensed by the Department of Social Services and has the capacity to serve 48 children between two and five years of age. Day care services are affordably priced, thereby offering lower to middle income parents the opportunity to maintain their employment and meet their needs for quality child care services. This program provides students with three nutritious meals daily and encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development.

Carolina Cool Jazz Orchestra
An auditioned community orchestra composed of professional and non-professional musicians, the Carolina Cool Jazz Orchestra strive to educate, entertain and enrich people's lives through Contemporary, World and Jazz oriented music.


Citizen Scholars Program
This seven-year program of the Spartanburg County Foundation is designed to assist Spartanburg County students with academic potential who would not normally attend college. The seven year program provides each student with enrichment activities, classes to help prepare for college, and a relationship with a supportive adult/mentor.

COLORS is a program which addresses the need for positive creative outlets for inner-city youth. COLORS' mission is to develop young talent by providing the opportunity for them to experience the power of their own creativity. These students are able to come to an after school environment where paper, paint, pastels, charcoal and clay are provided for their creative development. Participants are supervised and encouraged by professional art instructors.

First Steps
South Carolina First Steps to school Readiness ('First Steps') is a comprehensive, results-oriented statewide education initiative to help prepare our children to reach first grade healthy and ready to succeed.

Four-H
Four-H is the youth educational phase of the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service. Youth between the ages of 5 and 19 participate in 4-H. To learn more, call Ginger Bowen at 864-596-2993.

Girl Scouts - Piedmont Area Council
Our mission is to give every girl the chance to participate in Girl Scouting - to serve every girl, everywhere. Any girl between the ages of 5 and 17 may become a member of the Girl Scouts. She must accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Although all girls are known as Girl Scouts, there are actually five age-specific program levels: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes and Seniors.

Pamletto Youth Orchestra and Sinfonia
The Palmetto Youth Orchestra is a modern symphony orchestra, representing most secondary schools throughout the area. PYO is affiliated with Converse College through the Alia Lawson Pre-College Program. Under the guidance of professionals, PYO musicians will culivate an appreciation for the beauty and excitement of the world's greatest music.

Parents' Night Out is from 6:30PM-10:30PM third Fridays of the month at Greer Recreation Center. Ages 4-12. Call 864-848-2192 for more info.

Southside Unity in the Community
Southside Unity in the Community is dedicated to promoting volunteerism within the Southside community. The program intends to make available in one central location resources, training, and opportunities that will encourage volunteerism.
Southside Unity in the Community strives to lead by example. Volunteerism is rarely taught in the Southside Community; it is our hope that this program managed entirely by volunteers will inspire volunteerism in present and future generations. Call 864-621-7209 for more information.

Spartanburg Park It! Day
Our community parks are mostly empty (as far as playground equipment) and are rarely used by the community residents. Instead of hangouts for trouble, these parks can become hangouts for success! Our vision is to create playgrounds and inform our children in the "at-risk" communities of Spartanburg that we will UNITE TO MAKE IT RIGHT!

Spartanburg Youth Soccer Club
The Spartanburg Youth Soccer Club is a not-for-profit organization striving for excellence on and off the soccer field. The day to day operations are overseen by a large volunteer group led by the Board of Director's, along with a full-time Executive Director of Administration and Coaching. The Club offers a full range of opportunities including girls' and boys' recreational, developmental and select teams. SYSC provides a positive soccer experience for players in the Upstate.

Spartanburg Youth Theatre
The Spartanburg Youth Theatre presents four productions each October - May season, using young actors and actresses, with three public performances and two days of in-school performances of each show. More than 10,000 Spartanburg County students attend the Youth Theatre annually. In addition, the Youth Theatre's professional staff teaches a variety of classes for students in grades K-12.

Trident Area Youth Soccer Association is affiliated with South Carolina Youth Soccer Association, United States Youth Soccer Association, United Soccer Federation, and Federation Internationale de Football Association.

YMCA of Greater Spartanburg

Y-Spartaquatics
The Y-Spartaquatics Swim Club is a year round competitive swim team located in South Carolina's upstate. YSSC is a program of the YMCA of Greater Spartanburg and competes in both USA Swimming and YMCA sanctioned meets.
