Alive and Well Animal Rescue Center
meets the first Monday of each month from 7-8pm at the main branch of

American Red Cross, Piedmont Chapter is
looking for a youth volunteer coordinator for the Piedmont Area Chapter
for 5 to 8 hours a week. This is a good opportunity for individuals who
work well with middle and high school age students and who want to make
an impact on the quality of life for youth. The Piedmont Chapter is
also looking for an Armed Forces Case Worker, volunteers for the
Community Education Speaker’s Bureau, Health or Information
Fairs, Disaster Services, Administrative Support, Hospital Volunteers,
Special Events Volunteers, and First Aid/CPR Instructors. Contact Linda

Animal Allies
If you have a skill, we have a need for it!
Animal Allies facilitates a low-cost spay/neuter program for cats and
dogs. Our services are available to anyone who wants to spay/neuter
their pet, however, our focus is on targeted surgeries for low-income
families. Volunteers are needed in our clinic and to help with

Bethlehem Center
The Bethlehem Center, established in 1930, is currently a multi-service
Agency providing an array of programs to residents in Spartanburg
County. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following activities:
- Volunteers for Boy and Girl Scouting programs
- Academic tutors for adults and children
- Coaches for sports
- Help with senior programming
- Professional services (i.e. legal, printing,
artistic)
- Help with necessary repairs and building
maintenance
- Board membership
- Fundraising help

and Girls Club of Metro Spartanburg

Habitat for
Humanity of Spartanburg, Inc. is a Christian
housing ministry building simple, affordable homes for deserving, needy
families. Habitat is looking for volunteers for the new Home Store. The mission of the Home Storeis to
raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg so that new, decent
affordable housing can be constructed in Spartanburg County. Call

Hatcher Garden
and Woodland Preserve
Join Hatcher Garden and Jeff, our Horticulturist, for Volunteer Days,
selected Saturdays and every Thursday from 9am-noon! Not good at
digging? Volunteers may also assist in administrative capacities, such
as writing articles or editing the newsletter, helping to coordinate
special events at the Garden, fundraising, preparing direct mailings
and other office procedures.
Killingsworth, Inc.
Killingsworth is a transitional home for women emerging from crisis
situations in Columbia, SC. The home serves women from across the
southeast, including residents of Spartanburg,
Cherokee, Union, Laurens, and surrounding counties. They are looking
for volunteers in the Columbia area, as well as "virtual" volunteers to
provide assistance via phone and email.

Mary Black Hospital
Volunteer your time, help support Mary Black and meet new friends by
joining our volunteer team. For more information on how you can help,

Mobile
Meals Service of Spartanburg
Mobile Meals is a home-delivered hot meal service for the homebound of
Spartanburg County who are unable to prepare their own food. No charge
is made for the meals, delivered Monday through Friday, and there are
no income or age restrictions for potential recipients. Volunteers are
the “life line” of Mobile Meals; it takes at least
150 volunteers per day to see that meals are delivered to the 2,000
recipients served each weekday.

Operation Comfort
is a special program in Army Community Service (ACS) that was
established to support deployed service members of Fort Gordon, Augusta
and their families. Support through Operation Comfort may come in the
form of respite childcare, outings or other events that boost morale,
family members directly purchasing goods for service members and their

Piedmont Blood
Center
Every day blood is needed in hospitals and emergency treatment
facilities for patients with cancer and other diseases, for organ
transplant recipients, and to save the lives of accident victims.
Giving blood is easy, safe and takes less than one hour, but only about
five percent of eligible Americans donate blood. Donations are
critically needed, please act now.
Piedmont
Community Actions, Inc.
Piedmont Community Actions (PCA) is a private non-profit agency which
serves Spartanburg and Cherokee counties in the upstate of South
Carolina. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment in which
low-income families can seek assistance that helps them to become less
dependent upon government assistance. PCA strives to give low-income
families a "hand up" in the direction of self-sufficiency, not a
"handout".
Safe
Homes - Rape Crisis Coalition
Safe Home - Rape Crisis serves Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union
Counties, giving help, support, and emergency shelter to victims of
rape and domestic violence and their children. Safe Home - Rape Crisis
will offer training for volunteers to assist with their 24-hour crisis
line during weekends, evenings and holiday. Training is provided free

Unity in the Community
Southside
Unity in the Community is dedicated to promoting volunteerism within
the Southside community. The program intends to make available in one
central location resources, training, and opportunities that will
encourage volunteerism.
Southside Unity in the Community strives to lead by example.
Volunteerism is rarely taught in the Southside Community; it is our
hope that this program managed entirely by volunteers will inspire

Our community parks are mostly empty (as far as playground equipment)
and are rarely used by the community residents. Instead of hangouts for
trouble, these parks can become hangouts for success! Our vision is to
create a playground at Irwin Park and inform our children in the
"at-risk" communities of Spartanburg that we will UNITE TO MAKE IT
RIGHT!
