I’ve met so many people, visited places I’d never dreamed I’d see, all thanks to writing; and I’m thrilled to meet Spartanburg’s community. I’m also ready to settle into this new space. It’s also a homecoming of sorts insofar as I’m returning to the South, the source of so much of writerly obsessions. I’m ready to hunker down and return to the work. — Derrick Austin
