City Council Approves Purchase of New Police Department Records Management System

At a brief Thanksgiving week meeting, City Council voted 5-0 to approve the purchase of new records managment software for the City’s Police Department.

Mayor Junie White and Council member Jan Scalisi were absent from the meeting. The $879,932 lease agreement with Government Capital includes an initial down payment of $60,000 that will be paid from grant funds and six annual payments of around $155,000 thereafter.

The new records management system will allow for data sharing between the police department and the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, which already uses the same system.
