The South Carolina Department of Commerce and the Clarendon County Development Board announced that Manhattan Holdings, LLC will expand its wood molding operations in Clarendon County. The company plans to investment approximately $2.5 million and create 65 new jobs in Manning, South Carolina.
Manhattan Holdings, LLC is the parent company for a collection businesses focused on the manufacturing and distribution of wood moldings and millwork products throughout the United States. The new facility will operate under the name of JW Southwoods and will be a manufacturing facility. “The Manhattan family of companies is a leading supplier of moldings and millwork products. The decision to expand operations in South Carolina speaks volumes to our state’s business-friendly climate, quality infrastructure, and dedicated workforce. Thanks to the team efforts of local and state officials, Clarendon will benefit from this investment,” said Joe Taylor, Secretary of Commerce. “JW Southwoods’ announcement is exciting news for Clarendon County bringing with it jobs that will positively impact our community,” said Dwight L. Stewart, Chairman of Clarendon County Council. “Finding someone to reuse this specialized facility is especially encouraging.” “The Manhattan family of companies has made significant contributions to this community for the last 10 years,” said J. Barry Ham, Chairman of the Clarendon County Development Board. “This expansion into another facility will solidify their presence here for years to come.” Manhattan is a vertically integrated, international supplier of molding and millwork products to the retail, lumberyard and builder segments of the home improvement industry.
