The South Carolina Department of Commerce has announced that Achieva Rubber Corporation will locate a sales and distribution facility in Spartanburg County. The company will invest approximately $880,000 and expects to create 10 jobs as a result of the investment.
“Achieva Rubber is pleased to locate our newest facility in South Carolina. The state and local officials made our decision of where to locate an easy one. South Carolina’s access to markets, especially its proximity to our company’s prospective clients along the eastern seaboard of the United States, and infrastructure to support our company’s future growth were key factors in our location decision,” said Chris Tsai, President and CEO, Achieva Rubber Corporation. Achieva Rubber Corporation will locate its 108,000 square foot facility in the former MPI building in Cowpens. The company’s new facility will allow it to service clients in the Eastern U.S. “[This] announcement is another sign that our efforts to strengthen the state’s economic soil conditions are working to attract new investment and create jobs. We remain committed to continuing these efforts to keep creating jobs and opportunity throughout South Carolina,” said Gov. Mark Sanford. “Achieva Rubber focuses on high quality tire production and its new facility in South Carolina will allow the company to reach customers along the east coast. The company’s decision to locate in South Carolina further demonstrates that our state’s business-friendly climate, market access, and quality infrastructure are growing the economy and creating jobs for South Carolinians,” said Joe Taylor, Secretary of Commerce. “We are pleased to welcome Achieva Rubber to Spartanburg County. We are thrilled that they have chosen to set up their operation in the Cowpens area, placing an existing building back into use,” said Carter Smith, Executive Vice President, Economic Futures Group, Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
