Carolina Recycling Association Brings MyEcoVille to the Carolinas


The Carolina Recycling Association has annouced it will now be providing up to date recycling and waste reduction information to residents in the Carolinas at NC.MyEcoVille.com and SC.MyEcoVille.com.

The Carolina Recycling Association has also launched the CRA portal website at cra-recycle.org. MyEcoVille is a customizable environmental website which allows CRA to efficiently deliver current information and resources to educate the public and increase waste diversion efforts in the two states.

"On behalf of the CRA Board of Directors we are excited and pleased to welcome this dynamic new user-friendly recycling information resource," Will Sagar, CRA's President states. "The MyEcoVille sites offer the functionality to provide information for professionals, residents and businesses interested in recycling and waste reduction. Resources are available for individuals and organizations at all levels of engagement. Visitors to the sites from North and South Carolina will have access to local and statewide recycling information, conservation news and events, and a rich online library of environmental education material."

Additional features include a calendar of events and syndicated news. "MyEcoVille is emerging as a central clearinghouse of local information and resources for the public in the Carolinas," said Rick Penner, President at Emerge Knowledge Design Inc., the company that developed MyEcoVille. MyEcoVille sites are already successfully established in Georgia, Tennessee, and in the counties of Lucas, OH, Spartanburg, SC and Monroe, MI. Other sites currently in development are for the counties of Norfolk, VA, York, SC, and Hillsborough, FL.

CRA began in 1998 though the merger of the South Carolina Recycling Association and the North Carolina Recycling Association. The individual associations began in 1991 and 1988 respectively, bringing together public and private individuals and organizations to promote and grow waste diversion and reduction through networking, education and outreach.
