Daniel Z to Celebrate Sound Healing Day with Concert on Valentine’s Day

Daniel Z, Spartanburg-based musician and composer, will present a special and free Valentine’s Day concert Sunday, Feb. 14th, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm as part of Chapman Cultural Center’s weekly Sundays’ Unplugged program.

In addition to his signature mellow jazz on the vibraphone (similar to a xylophone), Daniel Z will perform music he composed especially for World Sound Healing Day, which is also on Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day.

Daniel Z has performed in the U.S. and Europe for 25 years. At any time, Daniel Z’s music may consist of drums, piano, voice, bass, guitar, flute or trumpet. But he is most widely noted for his original music played on the vibraphone, a musical percussion instrument with a double row of tuned metal bars, each above a tubular resonator containing a motor-driven rotating vane, giving a vibrato effect. In addition, he conducts music education programs for children, adults, and the elderly. He is one of Chapman’s most recognized and popular local musicians. The purpose of World Sound Healing Day is to positively affect the Earth through the use of sound, bring awareness of the power of intentional sound, and to create a conscious community using sound for planetary healing. This will be the 14th year of celebrating World Sound Healing Day.
