2008 Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards Now Accepting Nominations


The Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce announced that the Riley Institute® at Furman University is accepting nominations for the 2008 Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards. These awards recognize individuals and organizations that exhibit leadership in promoting diversity in the Upstate. Awards will be presented at the Fourth Annual Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards Dinner on May 6, 2008 at the Carolina First Center.

Nomination award categories include:

  • Business A business that internally models diversity management and serves as a community diversity champion
  • Individual: The Calder D. Ehrmann Award An individual who demonstrates a high degree of success in promoting diversity and inspires others to embrace diversity in the community
  • International An organization, program or individual that positively contributes to promoting international diversity in the Upstate
  • Non-Profit Organization A non-profit or civic organization, which focuses on integrating diversity practices in the services provided to its community
  • High School Student A high school student who is viewed as a diversity champion and demonstrates a leading role in promoting diversity in the school environment or in the community
  • College Student A college student who is viewed as a diversity champion and demonstrates a leading role in promoting diversity in the campus environment or in the community Individuals may submit nominations for one or more of these awards. Criteria and nomination forms may be downloaded at www.rileyinstitute.org. Submission deadline for nominations is April 1, 2008. Nomination forms must be received by this date for consideration.

    The Fourth Annual Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards Dinner is presented by The Riley Institute® at Furman University and is hosted by the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce and Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce.
