A Farewell Reading With Hub City Writer-in-Residence Casey Patrick

Join us at Hub City Bookshop on May 29th for a final reading with the current Writer-in-Residence Casey Patrick.

The event begins at 7:00 pm and is expected to last an hour.

Patrick received her BA from Knox College and her MFA from Eastern Washington University. While serving as Hub City’s Writer-in-Residence, she has volunteered in local schools, attended numerous literary festivals, and led Hub City’s monthly meet-up for writers, Writer’s Night Out.

She will read from her current project, a series of poems that examines our fascination with female historical figures, especially Amelia Earhart.

Much of her work centers on Amelia Earhart, though she has also written about Zelda Fitzgerald, Marie Curie, and Clara Bow. She’s interested in exploring what it means for these women to be a symbol, and how legacy is often distorted by the historical record.
