GSP is working to become of the country’s most convenient and user-friendly airports. Wireless Internet access is now available at GSP International. Passengers can access the Internet on the restaurant level as well as both the A and B concourses. Installed and maintained by Prime Line Communications, this is a free service to GSP customers.
Passengers can also now grab a hot sandwich at one of two new mini-restaurants, found behind secutiry screening gates on both concourses. The restaurants are open from 5AM until 30 minutes after the day's last flight. Adjacent bars are open from 10AM until 30 minutes after hte last flight, Monday - Saturday. Additionally, the GSP Airport Commission has opened a 12-space free cell phone lot where drivers can park while they wait to be called to the terminal to pick-up their arriving passenger(s). This lot is located in front of the cargo building on GSP Drive about 3/10th of a mile from the terminal. Drivers are required to remain in their vehicles and are not allowed in the lot for longer than 30 minutes. As one of the busiest airports in the state, GSP has partnered with Senior Action agencies in Spartanburg and Spartanburg and now hosts a volunteer ambassador program, which has proven to be popular among air travelers. These volunteers provide a variety of customer services, including assisting passengers with luggage in from the front curb, providing wheelchairs and baggage carts, directing arriving passengers to baggage claim and other airport facilities, and providing customers with information on local restaurants, hotels, and other local attractions. Bilingual Ambassadors provide translation services that deliver a sense of calm to passengers and guests traveling in the Upstate who are unfamiliar with the surroundings and the language. They also assist the Transportation Security Administration as they process passengers through the security checkpoints. (Images provided by GSP International Airport.)
