“Camp” means adventure. Kids are all about new adventures.
With children counting down the days until area schools let out, it won’t be long
before they’re asking, “what can we do today?” Hollywild Animal Park has the
answer. Combining all that Hollywild has mastered over its 39 year history – quality animal care, education and outreach, connecting with kids and families, and providing an environment of great fun – Hollywild gives you the answer – a day-long camp. Science Adventure Camp offers students who have completed 2nd – 5th grades the chance to experience life science in action by touching and hand-feeding animals, taking a campers-only private Safari ride, and participating in Creature Features, side by side with camp counselors. Animals, adaptations, habitats, ecosystems, plants, and other core content are of state curriculum standards are covered in the outdoor classroom setting. Camps on Tuesday, June 16th and Thursday, June 18th are offered for students having completed 2nd and 3rd grades. Camps on June 23rd and 25th are designed for students having completed 4th and 5th grades. “My boys (Aaron and Ashton) just loved shadowing the park staff during the day and getting to hold, feed the babies and learn about the different animals,” said Paula Entwistle of Woodruff, whose sons attended camp last summer. In addition to the animal centered activities, camp materials and animal food, campers receive a t-shirt and a discount to the Zoovenir shop. Camp hours are from 9 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. with early drop-off and late pickup available. Early Bird registrations in by May 31st are $25. Registration June 6-15 is $35 and space available registration on each day of camp is $45. Campers bring their own lunch (refrigeration available) or they may purchase lunch at the concession stand. Hollywild Animal Park is located near Inman in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, one of the most scenic and culturally diverse areas of South Carolina's Upcountry. Nestled on over 100 acres, Hollywild is home to one of the largest collections of rare and exotic animals in the Southeast. Many of our animals are "ZooperStars" of movies and commercials.
