Mary H. Wright Elementary School needs your votes! The school has been selected to participate in the 2009 Lots2Give Program, sponsored by Big Lots stores.
Mary H. Wright students, teachers, and adminstrators were asked to submit a video explaining why their school is in need of financial support and deserves the $10,000 grand prize. The cash awards include one $10,000 grand prize, three $5,000 first prizes, and twenty-two $2,500 second prizes. Mary H. Wright is up against twenty-one others from around the country. The video is online at http://www.lots2give.com/?s=qvDFsAZybNw. Visit the site, view the video, and vote for Mary H. Wright up to three times each day between now and July 12. Your votes will determine the winners! Mary H. Wright's video is entitled "Math Counts at the Wright Shop". The school hopes to open a school store to help students work every day with the math skills they have acquired. Any prize money the school might win will help this dream come true by giving organizers the money needed to stock our store. Big Lots is committed to supporting community-based efforts that enhance the quality of education and the Lots2Give program is all about helping schools in need of financial support.Participating schools will be the recipients of an in-store donation program and also had the opportunity to put their creativity to the test in an online video contest where they could win a share of $80,000 in cash prizes. Last year's winner was a local school, the McCarthy Teszler School, and you can vote to help another Spartanburg school secure first place this year. The McCarthy Teszler School, a school for students with mental, orthopedic and emotional disabilities, entered a video in the national contest and was chosen as one of 100 finalists. Their dream for their “big lot” was for it to become an outdoor classroom that everyone could use. (Image provided by Lots2Give.)
