A Night at the Opera

The Spartanburg High School Chamber Orchestra with Conductor Jeffrey M. Kuntz will present “A Night at the Opera,” a free concert open to the public, at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2 at the Chapman Cultural Center in downtown Spartanburg.

Several outstanding student soloists will be presented.

This concert will include some of the most beautiful musical moments ever created for the operatic stage: Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Snow Maiden” and “Scheherazade”; Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas”; Verdi’s “Rigoletto”; Handel’s “Rinaldo”; and Smetena’s “The Bartered Bride.” The concert will also include the World Premiere performance of Mark Durham’s “Piece for Viola.”
