The City of Clinton is excited to introduce Rhythm on the Rails, an exciting new spring family festival taking place May 16th.
Ask anyone who has spent much time in Clinton and they will tell you can count on being detained by a train while going through town. In fact approximately 32 trains travel through Clinton each day! As you are aware, Clinton is a vibrant and caring community that is a premier place to live, work, and raise a family; however, Clinton is often a well-kept secret!
The Rhythm on the Rails Spring festival will provide visitors from all around our area with a taste of what Clinton has to offer while showcasing the resource our town was built around -the railroad and the great music of the train era.
Festivities will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday May 16, 2015 with a 5K Rhythm on the Rails Run sponsored by Crossfit 864 and continue throughout the day offering attractions that will appeal to all ages – historical railroad displays, blues music, amusement rides for children, Junior Junction – a little engineer area complete with a petting zoo wherein children can play with train tables, craft their own train, and of course we’ll have a train young engineers can ride on! In addition to the two stages offering performances by famous blues performers as well as local groups, vendors from across the upstate will be here exhibiting their novelty items. The evening will conclude with a street dance from 6-9 with music provided by Elliott and the Untouchables!
The spirit behind the festival is to develop a signature event that appeals to all ages and thus draw visitors from all around to our great City. It is our desire for this event to grow and become Clinton’s signature event to create a sense of community pride and an economic stimulus around a special resource in our community!
One of the unique features we are introducing for the first annual the Rhythm on the Rails Festival is that all the amusement activities will be free of charge. This makes it a highly attractive event for families with small children, and we anticipate seeing hundreds of them! We hope you will join us and climb on board for a great time in Clinton, SC!
