Patrons of the visual arts in Spartanburg cast their votes on the current Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg exhibition of members’ works, and the top three winners were Carlton Mullinax, Susan Hopps, and Cleveland Gossett.
Respectively, they were awarded $100 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third.
The awards were made earlier this month at a public reception, held during the city’s monthly ArtWalk, which is a public event when downtown art galleries and museums stay open until 9 p.m.
This Members Exhibition was installed for February and will end Sunday, February 28. The Guild Gallery at Chapman Cultural Center is open for free public viewing Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.
The People’s Choice awards were 1st place, Carlton Mullinax’s The Saint & The Sinner; 2nd place, Susan Hopps’s Botany Bay Rd.; and 3rd place, Cleveland Gossett’s Faithful.
