With the start of a new school year, Spartanburg Technical College has added some talented new employees to help the Upstate’s top technical college maintain its high standard of excellence in education. Spartanburg Technical College is proud to welcome the following new employees to its staff. Renee Bailey was hired as applications analyst in the information technology department and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Central Weselyn University and an associate’s degree in computer technology from Greenville Technical College. Carole Clark was hired as department head for the practical nursing program. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina and is pursuing a master’s degree in nursing education at St. Joseph’s College. Janet Culbreth was hired as instructor in the expanded duty dental assisting program. She was previously employed by Upstate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as a surgical assistant for Drs. William P. Mill, S. Anthony Bowie and James Strider. Marcelle Elm was hired as a nursing instructor and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg. Elm earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Greenville Technical College and is enrolled in the Master of Nursing program at the University of Phoenix. George Epps, Jr. was hired as trades specialist for the physical plant department and is a former student at Spartanburg Technical College. He was previously employed by Roebuck Builders and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Sherry Foster Eison was hired as a nursing instructor and holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg. She is pursuing a master’s degree in nursing at Gardner-Webb University. Lori Hartman was hired as associate director of advertising and public relations. She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree from Converse College. Lacy Hibbard Parker was hired as administrative assistant to the president. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg. John Hoyle was hired as an instructor in commercial graphics. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and journalism from Elon University. Janie McDonald was hired as a math instructor. She has a master’s degree in math education from the University of Alabama and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Athens State University. Jody Raburn was hired as biology lab assistant. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of Charleston. Phillip Robbs was hired as a math instructor. He earned a master’s degree in secondary math education and an education specialist’s degree in administration and supervision from Converse College. Patricia Rodgers was hired as public services librarian. She holds a master’s degree in library science from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in English from Arizona State University. Ellen Romani was hired as department head for the medical laboratory technology, medical assisting and health unit coordinating programs. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg and a master’s degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. Kristen Sherbert was hired as an administrative specialist for Book Inn. She previously worked as a secondary market specialist with Arthur State Bank. Linda Westfield was hired as a nursing instructor. She has an associate’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Gardner-Webb University, where she is currently enrolled in the Master of Nursing program. Jenny Williams was hired as an English instructor. She has a master’s degree in education and bachelor’s degrees in English and psychology from Converse College.
