Tower International Establishing First S.C. Facility in Upstate; $75 Million Investment and 140 New Jobs

Tower International, a leading integrated global manufacturer of engineered structural metal components and assemblies, is establishing its first South Carolina operations in Greenville County.

The company is investing $75 million in the new facility, creating 140 jobs in Fountain Inn, S.C.

Established in 1993 and headquartered in Livonia, Michigan, Tower International is a leading global manufacturer of engineered automotive metal components and assemblies for the world’s largest automotive manufacturers. With an annual revenue of $2 billion, Tower employs more than 7,000 colleagues at its facilities in North America and Europe.

Housed in the Southchase Business Park in Fountain Inn, S.C., Tower’s new Greenville County operations will manufacture large complex assemblies for a leading automobile manufacturer. With the first assembly program commencing in September 2017, hiring for the new positions is expected to occur throughout 2017. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project. Greenville County was also awarded a Set-Aside grant in the amount of $100,000 to assist with the costs of building upgrades and renovations.
