Wofford Celebrates Women’s History Month

Wofford College will celebrate Women’s History Month with a number of events. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Women and Leadership.”
Below is a list of the scheduled events.
- Tuesday, March 11
11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Anna Todd Wofford Center
Panel on Women’s leadership in the community. Lunch will be offered. The panel will include:
- Jean Bradley- Coordinator of the Guardian ad Litem Program for Spartanburg County
- Arielle Angel- Artist In Residence at the Hub-Bub Center, Spartanburg
- Dr. Pam Shaw- president of the School of Deaf and Blind, Spartanburg
- Betsy Boxer- executive director of Animal Allies, Spartanburg
- Rev. Julie Thompson- minister of First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg
- LaDonna Ryggs- State Executive Committeewoman, Spartanburg County GOP, Immediate Past President, SC Federation of Republican Women, Member- at-Large, National Federation of Republican Women
- Liz Patterson- Spartanburg County Democratic Party Chairwoman.
- Tuesday, March 11
7 to 8 p.m., McMillan Theater
Join artists’ lecture and reception featuring Karin Olah and Ann Stoddard. Both artists will have their artwork displayed on the Wofford campus. Karin Olah’s exhibit, Fabric Paintings, will be on display from March 7 to April 27 in the Martha Cloud Chapman Gallery. Ann Stoddard’s exhibit, Sculptural Paintings, will be on display through March 28 in the Sandor Teszler Gallery.

11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., McMillan Theater
Lecture by Dr. Kay McAdams on German “Rubble Women” and the reconstruction of Germany after World War II.
- Monday, March 24
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lawn in front of Burwell
Awareness Lunch in honor of Women’s Leadership. Includes a trivia quiz and raffle.
- Monday, March 24
7 to 8:30 p.m., McMillan Theater
“And Your Daughters will Prophecy”: Women Answering the Call to Ordained Ministry. Documentary film by Heidi Campbell-Robinson. Discussion with the author will follow.
- Tuesday, March 25
4 to 6:30 p.m., Burwell Dining Hall, Montgomery Room
Gender Conference- student literary works read.
