The Writing Show: Writing In Color

Join us Thursday, May 19th at the Spartanburg Public Library Headquarters for a casual, talk-show format panel on telling the story of the black experience.

Learn how to share the depth of being, struggle, excellence and resilience from these panelists:

Candace Wiley, director of The Watering Hole, an online community for poets of color.

Chauncey Beaty, a two-time Women’s Poetry Slam finalist.

Todd Shaw, professor of Political Science at USC.

Jennifer Oladipo, an emerging writer from Greenville.

Crystal Irby, artistic director of Fine Print Ink will moderate.

The Writing Show takes place each month on Thursdays between January and May. This educational series is inspired by a long-running and popular program created by the James River Writers of Richmond, Va. These evenings are an opportunity to network, get your questions asked, and to go behind the scenes in the sometimes-complex world of publishing. All events are free and open to the public.
