Many have been asking so here are the details.
We will meet at Walgreens parking lot on Fairview Rd off 385.
KSU at 6:00am on Friday, Dec. 14th
Ride down to Columbia and join some veterans and have LEO escort to cemetery and unload a trailer there. Should be done by 10:30-11:00 and you can ride back as a group.

For the group that is planning to continue on and support our fallen, here is the deal.

We will finish with trailer in Columbia and head straight down to Lakeland, FL. We will have dinner once we get into the Orlando area. For those that are making this voyage, don’t delay, call right away.
Friday night stay is at:
Holiday Inn Express
4500 Lakeland Park Dr
Lakeland, FL
877.320.8457

Early rise and line up for 3rd largest wreath laying in America. After finishing with the unload that day, we will bust up interstate and stay in Tifton, GA Sat night:
Hilton Garden Inn
201 Boo Dr
Tifton, GA. 31793
229.382.8484

We will have a nice dinner there and get some rest before heading home early Sunday. Last year we arrived back in Greenville around 2:00pm

Little tidbits about the event(s):
It will be cold. But it was also cold when these young men and women gave their lives for us and they didn’t complain having to sleep in it. I’m sure we can withstand a couple hours. Toughen up buttercup

Wear a long sleeve shirt that you are willing to throw away. These are live wreaths and the sleeves will be sticky when you’re finished. You will not want to put your coat on over it so bring a shirt to change to after you finish.

Bring a pair of gloves that again, you’re willing to chunk afterwards. Good chance of being sticky and you will not want your hands uncovered as these wreaths are cold and you may never get the sticky washed off.

If you know someone who is going, share a room. Communicate with Scott or Robert if you plan to go down Thurs night and stay in Columbia. We leave at 6:00am but sure don’t want to miss someone by 45 seconds and make them ride alone in the dark. So send a quick text if you’re going. If you are “thinking about it”…don’t send a text. Keep the back-n-forth for yourself until you’re sure and it will be simple for everyone.

Jeff Nelson will lead this ride again and has completed several of these so you can also reach out to him if you have specific questions. It’s pretty straight forward. It’s gonna be cold, you will get sticky, you may ruin a long sleeve shirt and pair of gloves. But it will be one of the most rewarding things you will do see.

Don’t forget, you can go online and buy a wreath or a box of wreaths. Cheap expense to be part of getting a wreath on every soldiers headstone. While hundreds of thousands are done, there are still hundreds of thousands that get no wreath. You can make a small difference. Grab your company and they can have a tax deductible donation. You can do this. The only reason not every headstone has a wreath is because many folks still do not know this happens. Go online and look it up and take to school, work, neighbors. And don’t forget that you can request which cemetery it goes to. You can decide Columbia (Ft Jackson) or Lakeland (Florida National Cemetery) actually in Bushnell
And remember to say Greenville HOG
