South Carolina Charities, Inc., the non-profit foundation of the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX, is pleased to announce the 2024 tournament has raised more than $625,000 for Upstate charities.

Since its inception in 2001, the tournament has awarded more than $16 million to further support the philanthropic missions of local non-profit organizations.

“We are incredibly proud of the impact that the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX has had on our community over the years,” said Bob Stegner, president of South Carolina Charities, Inc. “The funds raised this year will help these outstanding Upstate organizations continue their essential work. We are grateful to everyone involved – our team, sponsors, partners, volunteers and tournament participants. It’s an honor to be part of an event that brings people together for causes much greater than the game of golf itself.”

The charity organizations receiving checks from the 2024 tournament include:

  • Folds of Honor Palmetto State Chapter: Providing scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.
  • Friends of the Reedy River: Dedicated to promoting, preserving, and restoring the Reedy River in Greenville, SC.
  • Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute: Offering comprehensive cancer care and advancing groundbreaking research in the Upstate.
  • The Hispanic Alliance: Bridging cultures and growing opportunities for the Hispanic community in the Upstate.
  • Mobile Meals of Spartanburg: Delivering nutritious meals and providing fellowship to homebound individuals in Spartanburg County.
  • Neighborhood Cancer Connection: Offering support and resources to cancer patients and their families in the Upstate.
  • PAL: Play. Advocate. Live Well Spartanburg: Promoting physical activity and healthy living in Spartanburg County.
  • Upstate Warrior Solution: Connecting veterans and their families to resources and opportunities to ensure their success in the Upstate.

The BMW Charity Pro-Am offers opportunities to bring awareness and generate funds for non-profits through ticket sales, volunteer recruitment, one-day pro-am team sales, and special events. This year’s event featured a Military and First Responders Day, supporting the Upstate Warrior Solution and Palmetto State Chapter of Folds of Honor. The Birdies for Charity program continued to raise additional funds, allowing donors to make a one-time flat donation or pledge per birdie during the tournament.

In addition to celebrating this year’s community impact, South Carolina Charities, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of two new board members: Joe Bryant, Executive Vice President at Seamon Whiteside & Associates, and Neal Gilmore, Human Resource Marketing and Recruiting Manager at BMW Manufacturing.

“The BMW Charity Pro-Am is a wonderful example of community spirit,” said Michael McGovern, tournament director. “With the support of our board members, including our newest additions, Neal Gilmore and Joe Bryant, we look forward to continuing this tradition of giving back and making a lasting impact in the Upstate.”

Looking ahead, the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX will celebrate its 25th anniversary during the 2025 tournament. This milestone will feature exciting new events, including the return of the celebrity red carpet in downtown Greenville.

Golf enthusiasts and community members can look forward to a week of competitive play with professionals, amateurs, and celebrities at Thornblade Club and The Carolina Country Club. The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX is set to return to the Upstate June 2-8, 2025. For more information about the 2025 tournament, please visit www.bmwcharitygolf.com.
