Spartanburg’s Music History

Spartanburg Regional History Museum takes a long look back at local music culture with its newest exhibition: Spartanburg’s Music History.

Music is as much a part of Hub City history as the railroad. Spartanburg has been home to every sort of musician, from hymnists to rockabillies; blues artists to symphony orchestras.

Visitors are invited to examine copies of Singing Billy’s hymnals, take a look at some of The Sparkletones’ gear, see unique instruments, and learn all about Spartanburg’s musical past.

Learn about Spartanburg’s role in producing nationally acclaimed musicians, historic venues, and more.

This display will be located in the Museum’s rotating exhibition space at Chapman Cultural Center for months to come. For more information, please call (864) 596-3501.
