Lunch & Learn: The American Revolution in the Spartan District

Spartanburg County Historical Association (SCHA) welcomes authors Katherine Cann and George Fields, Jr. on Friday, Jan. 23, 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm for the January installment of its monthly Lunch & Learn Lecture Series at Chapman Cultural Center.

Cann and Fields will discuss their new book, Turning Point: The American Revolution in the Spartan District. The book tells the compelling story of how inexperienced backcountry militiamen in the Old Spartan District bottled up the British and learned how to defeat a seasoned foe. Lunch & Learns are held in the Callie and John Rainey Conference Room in the West Wing of Chapman Cultural Center.

Tickets and catered lunches from Palmetto Palate can be reserved in advance through SCHA’s online gift shop, www.spartanburghistory.org/tickets/, by phone at (864) 596-3501, or in person at Spartanburg Regional History Museum, which is in Chapman Cultural Center.

Tickets and a limited number of lunches will be available at the door. $5/ticket only; $15/ticket and lunch. SCHA members admitted free.
