Modernism by Brandi Dice on Exhibit at Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg

Brandi has always had an interest in art. From an early age, she was coloring or drawing or creating art in some form.

One grandfather was a photographer and had a darkroom she loved to visit. A great-grandfather made a telescope for the local school district. As a side job, and his first love, her father has always been a master restorer of old cars. Those creative juices run deep in Brandi’s soul!

In 2003, Brandi’s desire for new adventures moved this small town Michigan woman to South Carolina. It wasn’t long until she found what she was looking for – a place to become who she was; a place to use her creative outlet and a new place to call home.  She had no idea that she would end up living in such an art-centered town and has met so many wonderful and talented artists that she now calls friends.  She is a huge supporter of various non-profits and has displayed in numerous galleries throughout the United States. Most recently, Brandi was commissioned to create work for the guest rooms at the new AC Hotel located in downtown Spartanburg.

In 2011, Brandi opened her own fine framing studio and gallery, known as The Art Lounge. You may have heard of it! It’s located in downtown Spartanburg at 500 East Main Street.

Being a self-taught artist, her style is always evolving. In the last few years, she has really become a fan of the styling of mid-century or Danish Modern artwork, furniture, and architecture. This leads to her current exhibit “Modernism”.

Brandi says, “‘Modernism’ is my take on the clean lines and organic feel of the forms for the period. I hope you enjoy seeing my show as much as I enjoyed creating it.”

Her exhibit is on display at the Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg now through August 28th.
