Artists Collective | Spartanburg’s Holiday Artisan Market is Open Through Dec. 23rd

Artists Collective | Spartanburg is hosting an ongoing Holiday Artisan Market now through December 23, 2023, featuring locally made art, specially curated for gift giving.

The Market will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas day) at the Collective’s Spartanburg location 578 W. Main St.

Works in clay, photography, painting, mixed media, jewelry, glass, and other products of creative expression will be available. In all, 37 Collective members will have their work in the Market. Prices will range from items under $5 to more than $1,000.

Items offered during the two-month market are replenished so there will always be plenty from which to choose, Fedalei adds. “Our artists are well prepared for this event. We have stocked up on some of the items that we believe will be popular this year. We encourage people to visit several times because there will always be something new on the tables.”

Looking ahead at the holidays, do you often think you’d like to give unique gifts – one-of-a-kind pieces that the recipient will really cherish? Sure, there are websites offering such items, but why not “shop local” at the Artists Collective | Spartanburg’s 2023 Holiday Artisan Market Nov. 8 through Dec. 23?

“This much-anticipated annual market will feature works of 44 regional artists’ works – everything from acrylic paintings to sculptures and jewelry to photography and ceramics and just about everything in between,” says Marcy Fedalei, one of the artists and a member of the Holiday Artisan Market Committee. “Every piece is original and unique, and sure to please any recipient, and while you’re at it, pick up something – or a few things – for yourself.” Prices of the art will range from under $5 to more than $1,000.

The market will be open in the Solomon Gallery from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and – new this year – will be open late, until 8 p.m., every Thursday except Thanksgiving Day. In addition, ArtWalk Spartanburg Thursdays on Nov. 16 and Dec. 21 will feature refreshments and live music by local musician Tim Bethea.

“Staying open later on Thursdays will make it easier for people – especially those who work during the day and whose weekends are filled – to shop with us and find their unique gifts,” Fedalei says. “While shoppers are at the Collective, they are encouraged to visit the other exhibitions in our galleries and to shop in our retail shop.”

Beth Regula, chair of the management board of the Artists Collective, adds, “Our annual Holiday Artisan Market has become a favorite shopping spot for patrons looking for unique, locally made gifts for their loved ones. One might find what’s to become a favorite coffee mug, woolen scarf, necklace, earrings, serving dish, painting or print for a friend or relative – or even yourself. Shopping at the Collective also bolsters the local economy. Everything that we sell is made by our members who live in Spartanburg and surrounding counties.”

Patrons also will be able to register for door prizes of gift certificates redeemable for merchandise at the Collective.
