Are YOU the Murderer? The year is 1936 somewhere near the Austrian border.  On a train ride through the Alps, a murder has  been committed and YOU ARE A SUSPECT!  Did the butler do it? Or was it the actress, the professor, or even the detective? Dress in character, play your part and enjoy an authentic Bavarian dinner as you solve the mystery.
 
Ticket includes an authentic Bavarian buffet, cash bar, and supports Upstate International all while you solve the mystery! Coming with friends? When you buy your tickets, you can designate who you want at your table; tables seat a maximum of 10 suspects.

Sparkle & Shine A fundraiser to benefit Artists Collective | Spartanburg

Sparkle & Shine is both a fundraiser and a celebration.  We’re celebrating West Main Artists Co-op’s 10th anniversary and our new name, rebranding as: Artists Collective | Spartanburg.  Join the celebration to “sparkle more and shine bright” with us while enjoying an evening of scavenger hunts – with prizes, Cribb’s cuisine, sparkling wine, and a chance to buy some awesome art!  Ticket information is coming soon!
The Sparkle & Shine exhibition will run from March 3rd through March 28th in Galleries 2 and 3.  Special art offerings have been created and donated by the member artists to sell at $110 each.  Most of these are 10” x 20” paintings or photographs but will also include other mediums, such as jewelry, ceramics, and prints.  As always, more art will be available everywhere on the walls and in the studios of the 20,000 square foot building.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Artists Collective | Spartanburg to continue our mission.  Artists Collective | Spartanburg is located at 578 West Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301.

“Empty Bowls” Flat Rock Backpack Program

For the fourth year, local pottery artists are firing their kilns to help hungry
children in the greater Flat Rock area.
On Sunday, March 29, 2020, EMPTY BOWLS, a community meal benefitting the Flat Rock Backpack Program.
There are three seating options with suggested reservations, 12:30pm, 5pm and 6pm.
Tickets are $25 per person or $50 for a family of two adults and children under 12 years old.
Each ticket includes one hand-crafted bowl (all donated by area potters) and a soup-based meal
(a variety of soups, breads and desserts).
Tickets will be available beginning Monday, March 2
at St. John in the Wilderness Parish House Office, from Backpack team members or at the door
on the day of the event.
Please join us for this fun community event. Donations are gratefully accepted throughout the
year.

St John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church

  “The Bazaar at St. John in the Wilderness” will be held Saturday, May
2, 2020 inside the Parish Hall, located at 1905 Greenville Highway, Flat Rock. Fine
items of all kinds will be available for sale, including artwork, jewelry, furniture, linens
and silver.  Baked goods, live native plants and garden decor will also be available.
Proceeds will benefit local charities that assist women, children, and families.
Early bird shoppers are welcome at 7:30am for a $10 entry fee. After 8:30, the sale
is free to everyone, and stays open until 1:00 pm.
Parishioners Cynthia Shannon and Linda Giltner co-chair the event started 140 years
ago.  “Up to 80 women of the church are involved in this tremendous effort,” Shannon
said. “We are grateful for the public support that enables us to help thousands of
individuals and families.”  Giltner added, “The festive atmosphere and the spirit of giving
to others reflect what our community is all about.”
Visitors are invited to tour the historic Church building and Churchyard, whether or not
they shop at the Bazaar. Parishioner Albert Gooch will offer lectures about the history of
St. John in the Wilderness inside the Church at 10:30 and 11:30am. Visitors can also
take self-guided tours of the grounds. Volunteers will be available from 10am until noon
to answer questions.
